Justin Barcia, Cooper Webb and Davi Millsaps head up the official Monster Yamaha team in the AMA Supercross series, as the manufacturer has revealed details of all its 2018 teams and some cool photos.
“This is a great opportunity for me. I’m really happy to be back with Yamaha again, and especially to be racing for the Yamaha Factory team. I’m proud to have my number 51 on the brand-new 2018 YZ450F!” said Barcia.
Millsaps, who got injured after joining the squad, said: “I’m super-excited to be racing for the Yamaha Factory team, to be teammates with Cooper, and to be aboard the brand-new 2018 YZ450F. Also, how cool is it that I’m running my signature #18 on the ’18 Yamaha in 2018? It was meant to be!”
Webb said: “It’s great to be back for my second year with the Yamaha Factory Racing team. Last year was a good learning experience for me, and I’m looking for big things in 2018! I also want to welcome Davi to our team.”
The new official team name is of the Star 250 team is the Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha Racing, and the riders include 2017 250SX West Championship third-place finisher and Seattle 250SX winner Aaron Plessinger (#23), along with Dylan Ferrandis (#24), Colt Nichols (#31), Mitchell Oldenburg (#52), and Justin Cooper (#62).
For 2018, the Cycle Trader/ Rock River team Bradley Taft (#53) and Brandon Hartranft (#114) both aboard Yamaha YZ250F machines in 250SX and Alex Ray (#91) aboard a Yamaha YZ450F in 450SX.
With team owner Carlos Vieira, race director Terry Beal, and team manager Craig Monty at the helm, 51FIFTY Energy Drink/Yamaha is competing in 250SX with Kyle Chisholm (#11) and Hayden Mellross (#63) aboard Yamaha YZ250F machines.
