Former US Supercross and National champ Ryan Villopoto has signed up to be an ambassador for Yamaha despite spending his whole professional career racing Kawasakis.

The move was announced in a small press conference at the Anaheim Supercross where the Washington-based rider told everyone how he started his career on a Yamaha PW50. Yamaha is expected to be soon launching a YZ65 race bike and Villopoto will be helping with marketing.

“Excited to join Yamaha,” he said. “Thanks to all involved can’t wait to get to work and show you guys what we have in the works!”
