The Rob Hooper Racing Yamaha Motocross team will begin their British Masters campaign at the weekend at a Culham circuit which recently saw their MX1 riders, Kristian Whatley and Ryan Houghton record 5th and 6th positions respectively in the Maxxis British Championships round there.
Team Boss Rob Hooper is looking forward to it saying “There is nothing like starting fresh. Our start to the season has been positive, but littered with mishaps, so to be able to go again having learnt a lot over the last few weeks is exciting. All of our riders showed great speed at Culham in the Maxxis, so if they can pull off some good starts, and we have some luck on our side I am confident we can get a result”.
One rider who has earned the praise of Hooper is the team’s MX2 rider Robbie Dowson who came away from the second round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championships with his first top 10 race finish. “Robbie never gives up. He has had so much misfortune this year but he keeps going at it and battling back. If he keeps that up his time will come, and the start of the Masters represents a perfect chance for him to wipe the slate clean and focus on the positives from his last great race at Canada Heights.”
The British Masters take place on Saturday the 28th and Sunday 29th April at Culham in Oxfordshire, with the Rob Hooper Racing team racing in Pro action on the Sunday. For more information on the series visit www.offroadmotosport.co.uk
