Pro riders have also been quick to sign up for the “Rock it ‘til Sundown” Midweek Motocross Classic with last year’s “Bob Lewis Trophy” winner Elliott Banks-Browne returning to defend his crown. But he will have stiff competition from the likes of Josh Gilbert, Jake Millward, Jake Shipton, Taylor Hammal, Luke Hawkins, James Dunn, Nathan Dixon, Luke Burton, and Liam Knight for starters.
With just three weeks to go, the second staging of the Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club event is filling fast with some classes already full. The event takes place on Wednesday 31st July at the picturesque Tincleton circuit down in Dorset and offers up a unique format with races throughout the day on the full circuit, before the track gets cut in half for the evening programme.
That’s when the meeting really ramps up with the Pro’s joining the schedule as they race it out for the huge “Bob Lewis Trophy” and a hefty sum of prize money put up by the event sponsors Yworry, which is a brand new clothing brand. The top 14 riders from the day time races also have their own sprint final in the evening, with the top 4 riders in the Adult A final qualifying through to race with the Pro’s.
Classes include 65’s, Small and Big Wheel 85’s, Rookies, Adult Open and Vets (Over 40). There are stacks of prizes on offer in all classes for the top 3’s in the day from Teng Tools, Duck Smart… as well as some awesome prizes for the winners of the evening finals, including a BMX courtesy of the Stolen BMX CO for the Youth Class winners, an FXR sponsorship deal for the winning Rookie, a set of Talon Wheels for the top 65, a pair of TCX boots for the winning Vet, Holeshot prizes from Holeshot Motocross, Hard Charger awards from Thor and the list goes on. There is also prize money in the Adult Open class.
The Steel Hawk crew have been doing their utmost to make this a special event and have announced that the MX Nationals Start Gate and Mesh will be used to give it that National feel and with the likes of Monster Energy coming along the day is set to be an eventful one.
