Motocross tracks in France are to be opened up for practice from Monday, but all racing is still banned until August 1 – limited to events of less than 5000 people. Major events with 500 or more attendants will be allowed from September 1, which is good news for the MX of Nations which is pencilled in for September 27 at Ernee.

The changes were announced by the French Ministry of Sport and French Motorcycle Federation, but are all still on condition the Covid-19 crisis doesn’t worsen.

The official French bikesport statement says: Given the latest instructions from the Ministry of Sports announced today, all motorcycling sport competitions are canceled until the end of July 2020.

From 1 August, depending on the evolution of the health situation, it will be possible to organize competitions bringing together less than 5000 participants.Major international events should be able to resume from September 1, always subject to changes in the health situation. The motorcycle sport sites should reopen for training as of May 11th.

We are awaiting confirmation of the terms of recovery from the public authorities.
