As soon as the French and World Championship calendars were released, the club of Lacapelle Marival (France) fixed the date of their Masters of Motocross on Sunday 21 of March.
It’s in Lacapelle Marival that the International Motocross season starts in France, following a long tradition after Beaucaire and Valence. Despite the loss of their long time president a few weeks ago, the Lacapelle Marival club members have decided to continue to organise the Masters of Motocross, and fixed to March 21 the date of the 2021 event.
“As all organisers we don’t know what will be the sanitary situation in four months, but we had to fix a date and start working. It was important to announce a date to the teams and also organisers all over Europe,” says vice president Vincent Ayroles who got confirmation of the French calendar this weekend.
“Finally and as we do every year, our date is just two weeks’ prior the first Grand Prix who will take place in Oman early in April. We didn’t want to clash with another club who organise the French Elite opening round on March 14 , and we know that teams don’t like to race just a week prior the first GP so March 21 was the best date for us,” continued Vincent who is already in touch with riders and team managers. The French Elite round does clash with the proposed date for the Hawkstone International, though.
With no French GP in 2020, and with the 2021 French GP scheduled in October, Lacapelle will be the single event with top GP riders so early in the season and for sure fans will not want to miss it.
