Belgian Brent van Doninck exits the British championship to contest the 2021 MXGP World Championship alongside Calvin Vlaanderen at Gebben Van Venrooy Yamaha.
Van Doninck, who raced for the ASA Husky team in the Pro Nationals in the UK this year, previously raced the MX2 GPs for Kemea Yamaha, DIGA-Process Husqvarna and Assomotor Honda.
Van Doninck made the step up to MX1 in 2020 for ASA Husqvarna. But when Vlaanderen picked up an injury the Gebben Yamaha team drafted in Van Doninck to contest three Italian rounds.
Brent Van Doninck said: “I am really excited about this deal. Gebben Van Venrooy give me the chance to ride the last three MXGP rounds in Italy and we were all very happy with my results. I know already that the bike is working very well, and I think it will only get better as soon as we start testing. I really cannot wait to start working with the team.”
