Renaux injured after setting Riola pole

Frenchman Maxime Renaux set pole position in the MX2 then crashed during time practice of the season opening International in Riola Sardo this morning and dislocated his shoulder.

The factory Yamaha rider said: “I immediately set the fastest time and went for another fast lap. But I made a small mistake on the table top and landed a bit too far. I was thrown over the handlebars and dislocated my left shoulder when hitting the ground. I will visit my doctor tomorrow morning. I don’t think I will need surgery, because I don’t have that much pain and the physio was able to put my shoulder back in place again pretty quickly.”

Jorge Prado was fastest in MX1 from Romain Febvre, Glenn Coldenhoff and Ivo Monitcelli.
