Rookie Nate Thrasher only qualified for the Atlanta SX 250 main event by winning the LCQ, then went on to pull off a shock win the final! The 18-year-old, whose previous best ever was ninth, had a 13 second lead on the last lap as he romped to an easy win from Star Yamaha team-mate and points leader Justin Cooper, from Cameron McAdoo.
Cooper had a crash in the heat and was shocked at his ride to take second and eke out a small lead over McAdoo. McAdoo, who had a big fall while battling with Hunter Lawrence in his heat, fell while chasing Garrett Marchbanks for second place. McAdoo got back on but had a strong race to get back to third.
Marchbanks fell with two laps to go and couldn’t get his bike started again for half a lap.
Hunter Lawrence went from last after a crash on the first lap to take seventh.
