Kawasaki privateer Martin Barr broke his foot in a crash at the Lyng British championship in what turned out to be a weekend to forget with zero points scored.
In the opening moto the Ulsterman fell and remounted but had to retire after a rock smashed his clutch cylinder. Then in race two he crashed twice then called it a day with a flat front tyre – not knowing he’d broken his foot in the second spill.
“Not the start of the season I was after, another tough day at Lyng,” he said on social media. “It was a long drive home on Sunday night and after a visit to the hospital yeaterday for X-rays and CT scan, I’ve broken my foot which I’m totally gutted about! I’ll hopefully have more news soon on the injury to make a plan! Big thanks to everyone in my corner, it’s only a bump in the road and I’ll be back very soon.”
