All-clear in Maxxis drug test

At the final round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championships held at Foxhill on September 18, a number of riders were selected for participation in some anti-doping tests and all the results have proven to be negative. The criteria used was that the top two in each class – Shaun Simpson, Tommy Searle, Steven Clarke and Adam Sterry – were tested along with another randomly selected rider.

Brian Higgins, ACU Chairman, said: “It is some time now since anti-doping tests were conducted at a round of the British Motocross Championships. It is important to periodically carry out this procedure so that everyone – the riders, the Officials and spectators can see that measures are taken to prevent the use of drugs in our sport. The riders who were selected conducted themselves in a very professional manner and the results, I am pleased to say reflect this.”
