Kullas takes a win at Lyng Revo round

Harri Kullas continued his quest for the Revo MXGB championship with round three at the fantastic circuit of  Lyng, near Norwich.

Qualifying went well for Harri as he posted the 4th fastest lap time and then he got the perfect start to race one, with a holeshot from Jake Millward, followed by Tommy Searle. Harri kept a slender advantage of 2-3 seconds all race as Tommy moved to second, and then put in a late charge to close the gap slightly, but never close enough to attempt a pass as Harri won.

In race two Searle got the holeshot, with Harri second, and that’s how it stayed til the end even as Harri closed the gap at the end of race, to finish 1.8 seconds behind the leader. A great result, tying on points with 1st place overall.

Harri Kullas “Quite happy about today. Decent qualification for P4 and a good gate pick. Had holeshot in race one and smart riding all the way until the finish to get the win. Second race started 2nd behind Tommy, tried to stay with him and I wasn’t too far, but never close enough to try and make a pass. 1-2 scores gave 2nd overall. Happy with my riding and it was a good fight today and get a race win on a track where I know Tommy is strong. ”

Dan Thornhill was taking part in his first Revo ACU British Championship race of the season, after having to pull out of round one due to a broken shoulder, with the sandy track of Lyng near Norwich, sure to provide a tough test.

Dan qualified in 20th place and then had a tough first lap of the first race, circulating around 30th. Dan put his head down and clawed his way back to 19th at the finish for two points.

Another poor start for Dan in race two meant a similar race, as he pushed hard on the difficult to pass track from 30th place to 19th for another hard earned two points. It’s all about the bike time now, as Dan gets back to full fitness, so job done at Lyng.

Dan Thornhill “This weekend it was great to be back in the MXGB paddock, first one of the year for me. I took two poor starts and got caught up in issues on lap one of both races, that I couldn’t avoid.

I gave it my all but I’m just not 100% yet, and I’ve not been able to have time on the bike between races as my shoulder needs more time to recover I’ll keep working and look forward to the next race.”
