Mewse goes 450 for GPs

Conrad Mewse will move up to the MXGP class from this weekend’s GP at Loket in the Czech Republic as he will join the German-based Diga Procross KTM team. It’s believed he may stay on the bike until the end of the season and contest the remaining MXGPs, apart from the long-haul trips.

Mewse was linked with a ride on the team earlier this season until he crashed at Canada Heights and broke his collarbone.

The team’s Thomas-Kjer Olsen was badly hurt this year and is unlikely to make a return soon, so Mewse is an ideal fill-in as he prepares to move up to 450s full-time next season. Mewse will be too old for the MX2 class in 2023. The team’s other rider is Liam Everts, in the MX2 class.

Mewse will still race the British championship on the Stebbings-backed KTM 250 as he is current British champ and is leading the series with two rounds to go.
