Nine-time AMA champ Ryan Villopoto faces beach race winner Todd Kellett to defend his 2023 title alongside third-place man Aaron Patstone, in the Evo Plus 97-02 class at he Foxhill Vets Nations as all the entrants are now revealed. Former British champ Graeme Irwin, American Sean Lipanovich, and a trio of Pococks are lining up: Matthew, Bradley, and Brett.
Steven Clarke, Jonathan Roderick-Evans, Adam Donnelly, Mark Van Der Mierden, and Ross Sturmey are amongst the line up.
Sadly Mel Pocock is out with an injury, so will be replaced by Elliott Banks-Browne in the main team race for Team GB alongside Brad Anderson and Tommy Searle.
The Evo 125’s, are going to be smokin’
Every motocross fan knows that the 125cc race is a must-watch! Looking back, we can recall some truly unforgettable races, and the 125 races at VMXdN Foxhill are no exception. With not one but two 125cc classes, it’s time to delve into the Michelin Evo 125, over 30 lineup.
First up, two names that stand out are the legendary Neville Bradshaw and the machine that is Mike Brown. Their epic battles in this class at VMXdN have captivated fans across the vet’s motocross scene, and witnessing these two go head-to-head is an experience every motocross fan should have at least once in their lifetime.
Matt Coles, Daryl Boulter, Jim Davies, Scott Mathia, and Glen Bixby are also returning to the class this year, adding even more excitement to the mix. We also have the Barr’s duo of Elliot and Jordan, who are no strangers to Evo racing and ready to make their mark.
And let’s not forget Damon Strydom and Stuart Edmonds, who are eager to shake things up this year. With such an impressive roster, the competition will be fierce, and we can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
The John Banks Evo Plus Over 50 class and trust us, it’s a lineup you won’t want to miss!
Starting with a bang, we have the 2022 winner, Kurt Nicoll, returning, ready to reclaim his title and lining up against his long-term foe, Doug Dubach! The two hate it when they get beaten by the other!
Joining them is last year’s champion Alessio Chiodi, who had a clean sweep of wins across the weekend in 2023, alongside Southwick’s Keith Johnson, who claimed second place last year. You know both men will be bringing their A-game to the track!
But wait, there’s more! Get ready for the flying fish action from Rob Herring. We know he’s been out preparing for the event, and ‘Downtown’ Mike Brown is throwing his helmet into the ring. Undoubtedly, both gents will be at the sharp end of the action.
This class is also packed with international talent, including Paul Dijkstra, Kris Rosenberger, Richard Van Drooge, Mogens Nielson, Jorge Rodrigues, Leon Capps, and Pulp MX’s Steve Matthes, who will all be joining the fray!
And for our home country veterans, we have Phil Mercer, Phil Lewis, Jon Barfoot, Lawrence Spence, to name a few! The competition will be fierce, and we can’t wait to see who comes out on top when the gates drop.
Super Evo class of 2024 revs up
Riders are travelling globally to line up in the Apico Super Evo, over 35 class of 2024. Guillaume Theillout is making the way across the channel, and we believe he may be the first Frenchman to line up in VMXdN Foxhill. Martins Aleksandrovics is travelling from the Baltic shores with a host of contenders from the Netherlands and Belgium, including multi-European champion Jurgen Wybo, descending on VMXdN, too!
Richard Bird and Paul Burn will be returning in 2024, and they will no doubt be looking to improve on the previous top six overall from previous years. The names don’t stop there; James Lassu, Lee Tolan, Alex Hornsby. Add to that seasoned vet racer Jamie Skuse and the British Bulldog Brad Anderson and you have one awesome race!
The Evo Ultra class has attracted plenty of talent in the previous two years, and this year’s lineup is no different. Many of these guys will be racing week in and week out, knocking up those race-fit hours in preparation for the August bank holiday weekend event at the iconic Foxhill circuit.
Returning to the lineup in the Garland Powersports Ultra Evo Class is 2023 winner Tom Grimshaw, who has been competing in the British MX1 class this season. Joining him is Liam Garland, who has finished second in the class in 2023 and 2022, and Sam Nunn, who took the top spot in 2022; all three guys will be looking to secure race wins and be placed on the podium when the gate drops.
Could it be Harry Bradley’s year? He finished in the top 6, two years on the trot; Jake Preston, James Dodd, and Jarno Baauw are also taking to the gate.
But there is some new blood coming through in the group. Young guns Josh Vail and Reece Jones are coming to play. Both have ridden Foxhill on numerous occasions, but this will be their first VMXdN experience. Add to that the experienced Ashley Greedy, who will certainly want to be up amongst it and no doubt shake things up.
In the S Briggs Evo Open over 30 class, Jack Brunell is revving up to return to the iconic Foxhill GP circuit to defend his 2023 title. The Arenacross champ is swapping back to the beloved two-stroke. None of the other top three from 2022 or 2023 are returning to the class, so who else is lining up in 2024 to challenge Brunell?
Jamie Law will be up there for sure, as will Steven Bixby, who has been placed in the top 6 in both previous years over names that jump out, including James Kensington and Kierren Genge, but have we missed someone, or is there a good old underdog lurking in the lineup?
Pro Circuit Super Evo 125, over 25s
Last year’s winner, Luca Nijenhuisis, is returning, as is Rob Holyoake on his Stormworks Husky after his outstanding performance last year – check out MotoHead’s YouTube footage if you didn’t witness it in person.
The 2022 podium placed Andrew Lawton, and Ryan Butler are in the lineup and looking for more podium pie. Chuck Davies is back (third in 2023), and Nathan Jacobs has joined the list; if past history is any indication, these guys will roll out on stunning-looking machines.
Fan favourite and two-stroke lover Neville Bradshaw is throwing his helmet in the ring, as is Matt Bayliss.
Mike Panagiwtopoulos is joining us from Greece. The bike is already on its way, and he is ready for VMXdN Foxhill. Look out for the pink machine when the gate drops on the August Bank holiday weekend (22-25).
