Husqvarna’s Jordan Booker has had surgery on his spine following a crash while riding at Fatcats Motopark in Doncaster yesterday. The MVR-D team rider went down hard and broke his L1 vertebra and sternum and bruised his lungs.
Luckily the broken bone in his back was away from the spinal chord and he still has movement in his legs. He’s had an operation to plate and screw the spine and the doctor said it went as expected. He’s now recovering.
It’s a cruel blow for the MX2 British championship rider who has yet to race this season following an injury on his knee at the end of last year. He has spent months in recovery and only very recently started riding again.
He rode a 125 Husky two-stroke at a bike launch last week and told us he was preparing to make his return to British championship racing at the Blaxhall Pits round on July 16. “There’s no point rushing back before I’m ready,” he said. We wish him all the best in his recovery.
