Dylan Ferrandis may have to sit out the Motocross of Nations as he has broken his scaphoid bone in his wrist – a bone that can be problematic in healing. “Sad to say the season is finished for me,” said Ferrandis.
The Frenchman, currently racing the US Nationals, crashed last week but has only just revealed the injury and that he won’t be racing in Saturday’s Ironman US National finale.
He was due to line up with Romain Febvre and Gautier Paulin in the Nations at Matterley on October 1 but now must wait to see if he can heal in time.
A potential replacement would be Benoit Paturel but he fell while riding on Wednesday and has hurt his back. He’s thought to be out for the USGP next weekend but it’s likely he’ll be fit enough to ride Matterley if he gets the Nations call-up.
