The revamped Motocross of Nations track at Matterley Basin has been revealed in its final form, and given a shakedown test by Team GB’s Dean Wilson and Tommy Searle, as well as two Americans representing Puerto Rico, Darien Sanayei and Marshal Weltin. Team GB’s Max Anstie couldn’t ride as he didn’t have a race bike ready. Team MotoHead were there to check out the action!
The circuit has been lengthened, with a whole new loop added to take the circuit nearer to the spectators. And there’s a brand new BMX-style downhill start, bowl turn, rhythm section and lots more. And with the in field being covered in grass, it looks like an amazing venue that should attract the biggest MX crowd of the year in the UK – and possibly Europe.
Wilson, who has been riding on various tracks in the UK in the past two weeks, was pleased to finally get his first laps at the circuit near Winchester. He said: “The jumps are massive! But it’s lots of fun to ride. I can’t wait for the racing to start.”
Tommy Searle was looking fast and smooth on the Dixon Kawasaki KXF250. He’s in the MX2 class, so still has final tests to do on the bike. Tickets are still available HERE, so book now as you’d be mad to miss it!
