AMCA gets into sand race season!

It’s the sand racing season and there’s two great AMCA events available to enter, both totally different but still terrific fun for all! First up it’s the AMCA Beach Motocross at Weymouth on Sunday 28th October. Organised by the Purbeck MXC and with all proceeds going to local charities, the Weymouth event offers racing for Unlimited capacity classes of Experts, Seniors and Juniors.

Starting at noon with practice, its then a quick-fire afternoon of action with each group getting two blocks of racing, the duration being Juniors (15 minutes plus 1 lap), Seniors (20 minutes plus 1 lap) and Experts (25 minutes plus 1 lap). Entries for this always popular event close on Tuesday 23rd October with no late additions allowed on the day!

Two weeks later on the weekend of November 10th/11th it’s then the amazing AMCA Skegness Beach Race. In Association with Visit Lincs Coast and supported by Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and East Lindsey District Council. This event acclaimed by riders to be the toughest in the UK is now in its 9th year and continues to grow going from success to success. On Saturday the 10th November there’s racing for Solo Clubman (minimum age of 13 years-old) and Quads and Sidecars. The Clubman will get the weekend underway at 10.30am with a 1.5 hour long contest before at 12.30pm the Quads and Sidecars take centre stage as they go into battle for a 2 hour duration.

On Sunday 11th November at 11.30am it’s time for the main 3 hour solo race. Previous winners of this race include French ace Milko Potisek, Nathan Watson, Dan Thornhill, Nez Parker and James Hutchinson. With £1,000 again going to the victor, the 2018 contest is sure to be another classic!
