Barfoot surgery after road bike spill

Former GP ace and current Evo star Jon Barfoot is fighting back from hideous injuries after crashing a moped on the road. He said on social media:

“I had a freak accident on a moped last Sunday evening, where I thought the road continued on when it didn’t, falling down a 6/8ft ravine, landing on my face. I fractured my cheek, nose, 2/3 vertebrae in my neck, collar bone and ribs!

“I also lost the movement in my right arm due to the compression of my vertebrae in my neck pinching a nerve. This morning I went down for surgery and am pleased to say that I am now on the home stretch to a full recovery. I would like to thank everyone at Majestic for all your help getting me through this and my mum and sister for coming to my rescue and being by my side. I can’t wait to get home and see my beautiful wife and girls. Needless to say it’s been a rather traumatic couple of weeks.”
