British champs and Fastest 40 join for Hawkstone round

The Dirt Store British Motocross Championship and Fastest 40 are to join forces for a historic event at Hawkstone Park on August 3-4. In an unprecedented move for the British motocross scene, the Dirt Store British Motocross Championship and Fastest 40 are to collaborate and run a joint round of both Championships at the iconic Hawkstone Park on August 3-4.

Originally stated to take place in Scotland, the Dirt Store British Championship round will now be held at Hawkstone Park, featuring all Fastest 40 classes. This historic event will mark the first time these two prestigious series have joined forces, promising an unforgettable weekend of racing.

On Saturday, the lineup will include the Clubman MX1 and MX2, Amateur MX1/MX2, and Honda Cup classes from Fastest 40, alongside the Small Wheel 85cc British Championship class.

Sunday’s races will feature the Big Wheel 85cc, 125/250cc, Pro MX1 and Pro MX2 classes. The Apico 2-Stroke Festival 125cc class will be run on the Sunday, it has been confirmed tonight.

Riders registered in both the 125cc/250cc, Pro MX1, and Pro MX2 classes will have the opportunity to score points for both the Dirt Store British Championship and the Fastest 40 races simultaneously. Further details, including how to enter and the race order schedule, will be shared shortly.

The joint event sees Fastest 40 boss Paul Irwin and British championship organiser Gareth Hockey (pictured at top of story) work together. Next season, Irwin takes over as head of the British championship as it moves back under full ACU control instead of being run by Hockey’s RHL Activities company.
