British Masters series axed

The 2020 British Masters series has been cancelled due to Covid-19, but once full restrictions are lifted, a one-off event called the Bridgestone British Masters Battlecross and be one weekend where the best riders will battle it out to be crowned the Battlecross champions. Prizes will be up-for-grabs will include the customised Toyota HiLux Pick-up Trucks for the winners of the Pro MX1 / Pro MX2 classes.

The official announcement says: Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic and severe restrictions on mass gatherings, it is with regret that we announce that the 2020 Bridgestone British Masters season has been cancelled.

Whilst we appreciate that this may be disappointing, with the restrictions upon mass gatherings, social distancing, camping and complying with insurance regulations, it is not feasible to run a motocross championship in this current climate, especially when only half of the season remains. We always try to put on the very best events we can for our riders, spectators and sponsors and with the current restrictions we feel this is completely unfeasible. We are also completely aware of the financial implications this year has had on many.

Registration for the 2021 Bridgestone British Masters series will be offered to current registered riders first. This will be done in the coming weeks so please await to be contacted by the office. Please note, if you wish to change groups we will try our best to accommodate this but we cannot guarantee your space.

If you wish to take a 2021 registration space, your payment will be transferred across to the 2021 season. The 2020 Offroad Motorsport UK Competition Licence will also be transferred to next year.

We are extremely saddened by this decision which you can appreciate is out of our control.

However, we are aiming to run a one-off, extra special meeting later on in the year (when restrictions are lifted). This extra special, one-off event will be called the Bridgestone British Masters Battlecross and will take the form of one weekend where the best riders will battle it out to be crowned the Battlecross champions. Fantastic prizes will be up-for-grabs for this extra special event, including the customised Toyota HiLux Pick-up Trucks for the winners of the Pro MX1 / Pro MX2 classes. Further details will be released for the Bridgestone British Masters Battlecross event at a later date.

We will be issuing further information as and when necessary, however if you require any further clarification please get in contact with the office on 07747808366, but please be mindful our telephone lines may be busy.
