In the first round of the MX2 Racing Team’s campaign in Argentina, both Bobby Bruce and Jack Chambers faced their respective challenges, with Bruce returning to racing after an injury hiatus since last June, and Chambers aiming to regain his form since last racing at the Motocross of Nations.

Jack Chambers encountered difficulties with his starts, which forced him to battle through the pack in both races. Despite the setbacks, Chambers maintained a solid pace throughout the weekend, finishing 12th and 11th in the two races respectively. These results placed him in 12th overall heading into the next round in Spain.

On the other hand, Bobby Bruce showcased promising speed, staying competitive just outside the top ten in the first race. However, a minor crash set him back, although he managed to recover and secure a 16th-place finish. In the second race, Bruce pushed through to finish in 18th place. Overall, his efforts earned him 19th place overall for the weekend. Despite the hurdles faced by both riders, they demonstrated their determination and potential, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.

Jack Chambers – MX2 – said: “Decent weekend in Argentina, made it really hard on myself coming from behind both motos for 12-11 finishes to start the year. I am happy with my riding and feel with some better starts I will be where I want to be up in the mix. Thankful for all the effort from the team to make it all happen. I’m looking forward to Madrid in 2 weeks!”

Bobby Bruce – MX2 – said: “Not an amazing weekend, but it’s a start. I feel my speed is definitely good enough to be around the top 10 I just need to get some more races under my belt and I feel we will be well in the mix. I’m excited to keep building on this.”

Team manager Steve Dixon said: “Well it was great to get back racing again, the weekend went smoothly and it was good to go training on Thursday with some of the locals.

“Qualifying and pace were good especially as we did no pre-season races, that was my choice, it’s a long season and the races come thick and fast at the end of the season.

“Both races for Jack went well except for no good starts, at this level you need a good start, we will work on that but overall I was really happy with Jack’s fitness and race craft.

“Bobby hasn’t raced since he broke his wrist in June last year, I honestly did not know where Bobby’s speed was, but I was pleasantly surprised at the pace he had and I know Bobby has dedicated so much to the off-season to get back to fitness, a couple of fall hampered the overall result but Bobby can be proud, and great to have a British rider in MX2 again and thanks to all the British sponsors who have stepped up to help us achieve this.
