Cianciarulo shines at Hangtown

Pro Circuit’s Adam Cianciarulo went some way to making up for losing the Supercross title by clinching the overall win in the opening AMA 250 National at Hangtown in California.

Adam C flies to the overall

In the first race, held in dry conditions, he pushed hard all the way as he chased home race winner Justin Cooper. But second time out, rain turned the track into a muddy mess but the Kawasaki man mastered the conditions to take the race win and the overall.

Cianciarulo looked good all day

Cianciarulo, who took his second ever US 250 overall victory, said: “In the second race I lost my goggles and I’ve never raced without goggles before! I was just holding on!”

Cooper won the opener

Cooper battled through from a poor start in the second moto to take fourth as many of the top men slid off in the tough conditions. It was good enough for second overall for the man who had only qualified tenth.

Adam C loves the leg swag

Yamaha’s Colt Nichols took third overall, thanks to a third in the final moto after he had taken fifth in the opener.

Martin took second in moto two

It was disappointment for new Supercross champ Dylan Ferrandis who still ended joint with Nichols but was fourth overall as he finished fifth in the mudder – when many thought he’d excel in the mire.

Nichols pushes on

It was also disappointment for Suzuki’s Alex Martin who fell on the opening lap of the first moto and came back to 23rd for no points. But he took second in the second race, for eighth overall.
