After a successful second running of their ‘Rock it til Sundown’ Midweek Summer MX classic, Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club are happy to announce the venue for the third running of the event in 2020, the fantastic purpose built Cusses Gorse MX track, near Salisbury.
For 2020 the event, which takes place on Wednesday 5th August, will have a revised format with an Auto class being added and separate small wheel and big wheel 85cc classes, making up a ‘youth only’ daytime race schedule. The evening will be adults only consisting of MX1, MX2 and Vet +40 classes with a combined MX1 and MX2 Superfinal at the end of the night for the big money and trophy. In addition to the event itself they will also running a ‘boot camp’ training day with a couple of pro riders the following day on Thursday 6th August.
Not only on the MX track but Steel Hawk MC will also be giving riders a chance to get some Supercross experience under the watchful eye of a pro rider as well as offering up fitness advice from a physical trainer along with mental preparation and media training. All the details of which will be announced early next year.
The founding members of the Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club – Jeff Perrett, Paul Oughton and Julie Coyne – are not stopping there though as Jeff explains; “After deciding to get this motorcycle club out there and up and running it’s been a good two years for us, and what we’d like to believe as two good, fun events for all in our ‘Rock it til Sundown’ Summer MX Classic. So now we’re a little more established and learned a lot we have a foundation to build on and feel it’s time to do just that. We’ve made the decision to move to Cusses Gorse because it just gives us a bit more scope with our plans, like the bootcamp the following day. We have plans for a few new and different events and we’ll be rolling some of them out for 2020. We haven’t crossed the T’s or dotted the I’s just yet but we’re not too far away from that and as soon as we have we’ll be announcing our full events calendar for 2020. We’re excited about it and have been working hard on it so hopefully it will all be signed and sealed soon and then it’s up to us to deliver a fun, safe event for all.”
