The ‘real’ Dakar rally may have started in South America today, but there’s another race that has also kicked off following a similar route to the original Dakar rally from Monaco to Dakar in Africa. It’s the ninth Africa Eco Rally as bikes and cars hit the the sand dunes and desert trails of North Africa for two weeks. Racing through Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal the race ends in Dakar on January 14.
