Veteran racer John Dowd has been injured after hitting a tree while riding in his native USA. The former MX des Nations rider is stable but bruised in many places, after breaking his left leg at the tibial plateau and right pubic bone. He also has a widened pelvis and a haematoma in his bladder, said his wife Tricia.

“The doctors are working on pain control and making sure they haven’t missed any other injuries,” she said.

Dowd is a regular competitor in the Vets Nations in the UK. We wish him all the best for a full recovery.
