Brad Anderson fought back the tears after dedicating his EMX300 win to his friend Tom Brown who died after a motocross crash recently. Tom’s funeral is on Monday, meaning his best pal Matt Moffat wasn’t at the German race as he will be leading procession at the funeral.
Anderson led a KTM one-two at Teutschenthal in Germany, as GL 12’s current champ Mike Kras came through to second place, passing on-form Belgian Erik Willems in the final few laps.
Ando’s 19-second win was helped when race reader Yentel Martens had a massive crash. Anderson was catching the Husky man – son of former world champ Jacky Martens. Yentel hugely overjumped a big leap – he same jump that wiped out Tim Gajser later on in the MXGP class. Martens was taken away by medics, leaving Anderson a clear run to victory. The second moto is tomorrow morning.
