On the same track where his dad Stefan ended his career with a stunning double win in the Motocross of Nations in 2006, Liam Everts took a fine double win in the EMX125 opener at Matterley.
In the first moto he had 40 second lead then fell on the last lap, remounted and still won easily. In the second heat he battled for the lead but slowly pulled away to win.
Belgian Kevin Brumann was second overall thanks to two runner-up spots, and third overall was Florian Miot.
Eddie Jay Wade was best Brit, taking seventh overall while Joel Rizzi, in the top ten in the opener, had a difficult second moto. He finished 14th overall. Preston Williams failed to score.
