Formed in 2016 by organisers The 5 Elements, Hixpania Hard Enduro has quickly grown to become one of Spain’s most prestigious and important races. Held at Aguilar de Campoo, a town steeped in medieval history in the north of the country, the three-day event is one not to be missed.
Friday opens proceedings with the spectacular night-time prologue in the heart of the town’s main square. Under floodlight, the expected 350 competitors will go head-to-head in a series of qualifiers with the fastest battling it out for top honours in the final.
The second day of racing brings riders out into the wild of Aguilar de Campoo. Navigating their way around the outskirts of the nearby lake, competitors will face a tough and challenging cross-country loop to be ridden three times. With pine cone forestry trails, river crossings and slippery rocky lakeshore tracks, it will be a physical day of Enduro for all as they vie for a place in Sunday’s Lost Roads finale.
A three-hour multi-lap Hard Enduro, Lost Roads will push the world’s best Enduro riders to their limits as they fight for glory. The infamous Aguilar de Campoo quarry course is filled with numerous rocky climbs, giant rock steps and steep forestry descents.
After three hours a final ‘impossible’ climb stands between the race leaders and chequered flag.
