Josh Gilbert is to make his 2021 race debut at the Foxhill round of the Revo British championship on Saturday. He was due to make his 450 debut in the British championships and MXGPs this year but that was put on hold as he had knee surgery at the end of January.
The defending MX Nationals MX2 champ is now ready to race for the Par Homes Husqvarna team. Here’s what he said:
How does it fell to be back riding after your time off due to injury?
“It feels so good to be back riding. I had six months off the bike so the first few times were steady back on the bike. This week I’ve been out in Belgium training and I now have a really good feeling on the bike.”
Looking ahead to Foxhill on Saturday what are your thoughts on the circuit?
“I enjoy Foxhill. I’ve had some good results there in the past so I think it’s a good track for me to come back to. Roll on Saturday!”
What’s your thoughts ahead of Foxhills in terms of your plan of attack, goal for the day with it being your first British Championship round of the year?
“I’m just going to go into Saturday with an open mind. Everyone else have had months to prepare and done multiple races now. It would be nice to be up the front Saturday but at the same time I’ve only had three weeks on the bike so I got to remember I’m not at 100% yet. I’m just excited to get back behind the gate again.”
