GL12 goes KTM and signs Kras

The GL12 team has swopped to KTM 300s for the 2017 EMX300 two-stroke championship and signed up current champion, Dutchman Mike Kras, to replace Brad Anderson. Briton Lewis Gregory remains on the squad. Unveiling the all-new bike at the Dirt Bike Show, GL12 boss Bob Buchanan said: “We’d gone as far as we could with the Yamaha as it was such an old design, that it started to become unreliable.

“The KTM factory asked if I would run a team with Mike Kras and I jumped at the chance. He’ll ride alongside Lewis Gregory and we are hoping for a great season.”

Anderson, who had several mechanical problems on the Yamaha, is rumoured to also be contesting the series again on a KTM 300. It’s likely to be for the Verde KTM team who he rode for in the British championship in 2016. It’s believed he’ll race MX1 in Britain and the EMX300 series for the squad.
