Apico Husqvarna’s Irish star Stuart Edmonds and Honda AMA pro Christian Craig will be be out of action for the foreseeable future after they both sustained injuries at the weekend.
Edmonds has broken his upper arm in five places and may face surgery in Ireland. He was checked out today and the doctors said the arm was lined up nicely so he may not face going under the knife. But he will be checked again tomorrow.
It’s a blow for Edmonds as he was about to jet off to Australian to content the Manjimup races before jetting home to ride in the Apico 2-stroke festival.
Over the pond, HRC stand-in Craig crashed out of the lead of the AMA National at Glen Helen and has torn the ACL in his knee. He said: “I crashed while leading the first moto yesterday. When I got up and tried to walk I felt a pop in my knee and knew right away what that meant. It was so hard to sit there and know my season was over. It was confirmed after an MRI that I tore my ACL and will need surgery. “I can sit here and ask why me but instead I’m going to take this time off the bike to get better mentally and come back stronger and ready to fight for a championship. Thank you to everyone that has reached out and checked on me. Also huge thanks to the whole Honda team for the opportunity this year!”
