If ever there was a time to get behind our countries selfless front-line NHS workers, now is the time to do it. The MCF is calling everyone in our sport to drop their guard, forget sports politics and unite in a single-minded show of solidarity and do what so many individuals have done so well – raise money for an amazing cause!
With the current Coronavirus pandemic having an unprecedented effect on the entire off road industry, the MCF has launched ‘MCF Team Aid’ to bring together our sport in a bid to support two incredible causes during this difficult time.
The ‘get action & involved’ online event will be held from April 27th to May 3rd. It will be supporting the NHS Charities COVID-19 Urgent Appeal and Air Ambulance UK through a series of team challenges and an amazing online auction that’s been supported by so many already.
The MCF Team Aid will consist of a seven-day challenge whereby riders and club members can create a team of between 5 and 7 people, including a Team Manager to take part in a small challenge every day of the week. Challenges include a back-wheel change competition, design a helmet and a 5k run. Teams will be scored and judged by a panel of judges consisting of the likes of three-time World Champion Dave Thorpe, former World number 2, Tommy Searle and MCF Manager Gareth Chamberlain.
Alongside the challenges, the MCF will be running online auction from 10 am Monday, April 27th to 8 pm Monday, May 4th with proceeds going to both their chosen charities. Auction lots can be found here https://www.jumblebee.co.uk/mcfteamaid
MCF General Manager, Gareth Chamberlain, said “I think this is a great opportunity for the motocross community and the off road world to come together, have some fun and help raise funds two services we rely on more than most. The two charities we have chosen to support are imperative to our industry, and we hope that through the challenges and online auction, we can help make a difference. We’ve got some fantastic prizes on our auction from track days with Tommy Searle to a luxury boat ride for you plus 11 people!”
With MCF Team Aid being born in these uncertain times the MCF would like to use the event to help raise funds for the unbelievably selfless, brave and relentless hard work of all the nurses, doctors and many other key workers at the NHS and Air Ambulance. Both of whom are imperative to the sport and the current crisis.
The MCF has a Virgin Money Giving page for those looking to donate.
