British championship leader Jake Nicholls dislocated his hip in the Italian GP at Trentino without actually falling off!

“Yesterday in the second moto I went in a bit deep around a corner and somehow dislocated my hip. I didn’t crash but fell off the bike in agony shortly after,” he said. “It hasn’t really sunk in yet but I’m just happy yesterday is over. No one has really said anything to me here yet so I don’t know when I’ll be able to go home.”

It’s a blow for the rider who has had several seasons blighted with injury but was having one of his best years in 2017. He’s currently leading the British MX1 championship.
