Opening MX National axed due to weather

It is with regret that the organising team of the Michelin MX Nationals have made the tough
decision to postpone round 1 of the 2023 championship scheduled for Oakhanger, Hampshire,
this weekend (11/12th March).

Due to initial snowfall, then persistent heavy showers of sleet and rain, the team are conscious
of the safety of everyone attending with movements in the paddock and potential damage to
vehicles. This will also have a profound effect on the local roads surrounding the venue, with
traffic entering and exiting the site.

The MX Nationals team are all too fully aware of the time, money and effort that goes into
racing, the value of bikes, equipment and Motorhomes, and the long season ahead in this
current cost of living crisis. With that very much in mind and the access and safety of all
personnel and the medical team, the decision to postpone has been called.

The team are now working on trying to reschedule Round 1 of the Michelin MX Nationals
championship to run at Oakhanger on the weekend of March 25/26 th . Contingency plans are
also being put in place to run at another venue on that weekend should the weather once
again prevent the opening round of the championship from being run at Oakhanger.

The MX Nationals team wish to apologise for any inconvenience and is bitterly disappointed
not to be getting the championship underway this weekend, especially after the incredible
amount of hard work and time invested in finding an exciting new venue for British Motocross.
Rider’s and spectator’s entries will be carried over. Please bear with the team over the next 48
hours while they start packing down the site and have limited opportunities to answer
enquiries.
