Yamaha’s Chad Reed took a convincing win in the Australian Aus-X race in Sydney as Ryan Villopoto, making a return to racing after retiring last year, took sixth place as he was obviously race rusty.
Villopoto breifly led as he took the holeshot, but American Justin Brayton soon got into the lead. But Reed eventually worked his way to hound Brayton, until slipping through and taking the win. Jay Marmot took third after holding off Yamaha’s Cooper Webb.
