The Dixon Kawasaki GP team of Tommy Searle and Darien Sanayei will contest the opening round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Cadders Hill, Lyng Circuit, Norfolk, on Sunday 11th March. It will be great to get the Championship back underway at one of the most popular circuits on the calendar.
With Briton Searle in the MX1 class and American Sanayei in MX2, it will bring true world class to the series. It’s believed the team haven’t registered for the full series but are planning to contest the opening three rounds at least.
Searle said: “It’ll be good to be back racing at Lyng. 2017 was a tough year for me but I can’t wait to get back out there and fighting for strong results.
“Lyng always get a really good crowd and it will be good to do the opening round of the British Championship. I will be pushing hard to take the win there. We will have completed the opening round of the World Championship and this will keep the memento going before we head to the European races. The Norwich Viking MCC always put on a great event and I am looking forward to racing there in March.”
Sanayei, who contested several rounds of the series last year, said: “I am just preparing for the new season. I’m excited to get going with the racing this year. I feel the British Championship will be a great Championship to be doing between the GPs and it looks like there are some nice tracks on the schedule. I am looking forward to going to Lyng to see what it is all about.”
Team Owner Steve Dixon said: “We are very excited to be racing at the Maxxis at Lyng. This meeting is always a good one to be at as it is such a traditional track and club.
“I first visited Cadders Hill in 1990 with my rider Jeremy Whatley! The circuit is almost the same; in fact the club members are still the same! This will be a difficult track for Darian but a fantastic experience for his European track craft. One of our sponsors Stebbings Cars are just up the road at Kings Lynn so we will be aiming to do a few laps of the showroom with the bikes before we hit the paddock on Saturday!”
Tickets are only available to buy on the gate and will be £20 per adult, children under 14 are £5 and a family ticket is £45. Camping is free gates will open for campers at 2pm Saturday the 10th March.
