Alex Snow, Luke Hawkins and Howard Wainwright have signed up to compete at the notoriously tough HydroGarden Weston Beach Race on October 13-15 with the HydroGarden Honda Race Team.
This ultra-special team in HydroGarden colours will run alongside the Buildbase Honda Team, which is also supported by HydroGarden and fields both British MX1 Champion Graeme Irwin and MX2-ace Martin Barr.
Former Grand Prix motocross turned enduro star Snow will be joined by another former motocross star Hawkins, who will be contesting the new Honda CRF 450RX in HydroGarden Honda livery. Snow won the British Enduro Championship this year and has the potential for Weston glory, as does Hawkins who has finished on the podium in the Adult Solo class in the past and in the top 10 last year.
Wainwright is part of the next generation of youth talent. Having recently been crowned the British Youth National Open Motocross Champion the youngster is bouncing into the off-season having had an incredible year, and will be looking for a HydroGarden Weston Beach Race result to positively finish his racing schedule off. Wainwright took his first Weston win in the 125/250F Youth class last year, and for 2017’s race he will compete in both the Youth and Adult solo race.
Dave Thorpe commented, “We are really looking forward to the event and the riders are ready; Alex won the British Enduro Championship this year and Luke was in the top 10 last year at the beach race. We are looking forward to being a part of the HydroGarden team with Honda’s new CRF 450RX, which will also be the bike Graeme Irwin and Martin Barr will be racing on. HydroGarden is a valued partner of the Buildbase Honda team and will continue this relationship into 2018. It’s great for them to have a team on the beach with their huge involvement with the event, and there is a good possibility of strong results.”
Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities “It’s very special for our title sponsors to have their own team at the beach and the livery looks superb. The HydroGarden Honda Team will be under the leadership of four-time world champion and one of the UK’s top coaches, Dave Thorpe, who has taken the role of Team Manager. I look forward to seeing Alex, Luke and Howard racing in October.”
