Top British MX Stars Ben Watson, Adam Sterry and Bobby Bruce have backed the Jude Morris Racing Foundation Website Launch. The Jude Morris Racing (JMR) Foundation website is live and the rider application process is now open.
British Motocross Champion and current MX1 Factory Yamaha rider Ben Watson, said: “For me, it’s a great idea to bring new talent in and give them the support that they deserve to try and end up in the situation that I’m in, racing in the World Championship, even to bring and develop young kids into the British level and get them on that ladder.”
Multiple British title holder and current MXGP rider, Adam Sterry said:
“I think the Jude Morris foundation is a great idea. To be able to give back to the sport and help develop and support the next group of talented youth riders coming through, this really shows the passion and care Mark and his family and the foundation have for the sport.”
Fresh from his 2nd place overall in the EMX 125 Championship one of the UK brightest-talents, Bobby Bruce said: “As a close friend of Jude’s, I think the Jude Morris Racing Foundation is amazing. He put so much effort into his racing and I know how much he wanted it so it will be a brilliant way to help the up-and-coming generation, with the same goals that Jude had, to develop in racing.”
Mark Morris, founder of the JMR Foundation, said: “We are delighted to have Adam and Bobby as Ambassadors both are amazing UK riders and we need more riders competing at the highest level.
“Please be patient with us this is our first year, so it will be a huge learning curve. We are committed to creating a foundation for riders that takes them from firstly The UK Nationals through to the EMX.
“This will not be easy; it will take time, require a great team of people and industry support. We have a nucleus of people that want to drive change, so if you want to be part of that journey please get in touch. Wish us luck!
“We hope to select one or two riders this year and build from there as the foundation needs to be sustainable. We are still talking to a number of partners and sponsors so our full rider support is not fully confirmed.”
Fundraising for the foundation will continue and there are opportunities for sponsors and one-off payments. Donations received will be split between the JMR Foundation and Air Ambulances UK; for every £1:00 raised, 80p goes to the foundation and 20p goes to Air Ambulances UK. Please get in touch if you have a fundraising idea.
The website launch includes an online store featuring a range of products including a limited edition JMR 101 Gold Number board, new bobble hats and an extended colour range of hoodies. If you post a picture on your social please tag us using the social handles below.
The Jude Morris Racing Foundation is set up in memory of Jude Morris, who died competing in The British Youth Championship in 2021. The Foundation is currently following the formal process to obtain a Charity status. It has been set up to help provide a resource and structure for young riders in the sport of Moto-cross.
