Team GB coach Phillips in Welsh VMXDN bid

As the excitement builds for VMXdN Foxhill, there is yet more news of teams lining up in the renowned VMXdN International team race, which is the highlight of the packed race schedule. Amidst the roaring crowd in the natural amphitheatre valley, we are sure to see the wave of the Welsh Flag cheering on Team Wales, who have entered with some big hitters for 2024 and are sure to leave their mark on the track and in the results!

Team Wales is managed and sponsored by Guy Langmead of Langmead Construction, and his chosen picks are not messing about. First up is journeyman racer Ashley Greedy. He is not only racing in the S Briggs squad in the Wright Engineering Team Race, but he will also be donning the Welsh colours for the VMXdN team and lining up in the International Team Race. Anyone who has seen Greedy in action will attest to his never-say-die attitude, especially in the last-chance qualifier Arenacross races, where he is ruthless. He is certainly one to watch.

Glen Phillips joins Greedy on the team and certainly needs no introduction. His stellar youth and adult career make for impressive reading. Alongside coaching the youth Team GB squad, he has recently got back in shape and scored points at the British championship, making a record as the oldest guy at 42 years old to do so. Phillips is smooth and aggressive on the track and is most certainly not one to be messed with.

Third up is Andy Gillett, who has had a long and illustrious MX career and will be an asset to an already star-studded lineup. Gillett has been racing since he was nine and raced at British Championship level until he retired from full-time racing in 2009. The 36-year-old from Maesteg, South Wales, is no slouch, having won the 2021 Evo championship and was part of the Welsh team at the VMXdN Foxhill in 2022.

You would be wise to bet on these guys for at least a podium finish, if not the win as they take to the gate to represent their country on the August Bank Holiday weekend (22nd-25th)
VMXdN Foxhill has truly transformed into an iconic event, rapidly gaining recognition as the most talked-about race on the British motocross calendar and making waves worldwide. This exhilarating four-day motocross festival pays homage to the unforgettable Grand Prix days of the 90s/00s. With each passing year, the anticipation leading up to the race intensifies, and the pre-race action never fails to captivate MX enthusiasts. If last year was anything to go by, we are in for a real treat.

Indeed, securing an entry to VMXdN Foxhill has become akin to obtaining Willy Wonka’s golden ticket, and the demand for spectator tickets and camping passes for 2024 has been nothing short of phenomenal. As the event continues to gain momentum and enthral fans from all corners of the globe, it won’t be surprising if this becomes the first outdoor motocross event to sell out even before the gates swing open.
