Dutch woman Nancy Van de Ven leads the WMX world championship after battling through the muddy Indonesian GP opener, leading fellow Dutch Yamaha rider Nicki van Wordragen over the line from German Anne Borchers, who was a lap down!
Early in the moto, Kiara Fontanesi and Livia Lancelot tailed the leader but then Lancelot’s Kawasaki expired and Fontanesi fell and eventually retired. Kiwi Courtney Duncan, fastest qualifying, crashed at the start but came through to fifth, behind Shana van der Vlist – another Dutch rider.
Briton Elaine MacEachern was seventh, the last or the riders who were only lapped once!
