It was muddy, it was fun to watch and Angel Stadium was packed – a solid start to this year’s Monster Energy Supercross.

The impressive Dean Wilson certainly proved he’s still got it and will improve as the season progresses, Malcolm Stewart rode a solid race after a good start but the top three of Justin Barcia, Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac seemed to keep it going for the full race and produced the goods. The top three were in cruise mode, on a clean, dry track they will be very tough to beat.

Round 2 looks set to be round one, in a weird roundabout way, if its dry, we’ll get a slightly better understanding of how fast the riders are going to be this year, this is Supercross and as we all know anything can happen.

Ken Roczen was pleased with his season opener, “I couldn’t have asked for a better night. A heat race win and a 2nd in the main event at the first round. Conditions were tough! Anyway… stoked!”
