IMBA European Championship action comes to Norley in Cheshire (WA6 6LJ) this weekend as the Ladies and Sidecar classes go racing. For the Ladies it’s round 2 of their series following an opener held at Wohlen, Switzerland way back on the 15th April. At that event, top British rider Chelsea Gowland took a fantastic 3rd overall, a result which also saw her become the first ever GB Lady to not only finish on the podium but also win an European Championship moto.
Chelsea goes into her home round just 15 points off the top slot and will certainly fancy her chances at Norley! During the Wohlen round, Catherine King finished 16th, Leonni Tighe 18th and Eleanor Calby 21st. All those girls will be looking to move on up the standings and will be joined this weekend by Charlotte Hall, Taylor Scott and Amy Goodlad. Goodlad in particular will certainly have the experience to mix it up at the top end of proceedings having previously competed in some World GP events.
At the time of going to press the final GB Sidecar team is still to be confirmed but IMBA European Championship regulars Tony Grahame/Harley Lloyd, Sam Osbaldiston/Nathan Cooper and Ross Bowers/Rob Eastman will certainly be on the start line and after glory!
The Ladies and Sidecar IMBA riders get three motos apiece whilst there also be a full programme of solo support racing. So get along to Norley on Sunday to cheer the super Brits onto European success, it should be well worth watching!
Across Europe at Krasny Dvur in the Czech Republic, the MX1 team representing Team AMCA Great Britain go into action for round two after enjoying a very successful home event.
